Summary

The Senior Prepress Technician is responsible for preparing, managing, and delivering fully colour-managed, press-ready files that meet production and customer specifications. This role ensures all work complies with company Health & Safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements while consistently meeting production, efficiency, and accuracy targets.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Esko and Adobe software applications to create and finalize print-ready files including colour management, trapping, proofing, 3D visualization, stepping, and RIP output (TIFF/LEN).
  • Execute digital file processing and imposition for both lithographic and flexographic printing processes.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of Esko workflow solutions, including Automation Engine, WebCenter, and associated editing applications.
  • Perform CAD-related tasks including dieline verification, 3D rendering, and coater programming.
  • Apply advanced colour management practices including colour reproduction theory, ICC proofing, Color Cert standards, and press curve management.
  • Support folding carton production requirements with working knowledge of carton structures, substrates, printing, die cutting, and gluing operations.
  • Follow established prepress procedures and quality control standards to ensure production accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to support workflow efficiency and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within prepress workflows and processes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency with Esko software suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong computer skills in both Microsoft Office and macOS environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of packaging prepress workflows and print production requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
