Strathcona Paper produces and markets high quality paper based specialty products and services. We are currently recruiting for the following full-time Maintenance /Shift Engineer Relief (8 hr. /12 hr. continental shift relief) position:
POWER ENGINEER –
Maintenance Relief /SECOND CLASS OPERATING ENGINEER
Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer, the successful candidate for Maintenance/Shift Engineer Relief will operate automated and computerized control system, boilers and auxiliary boiler related equipment, mill fire protection systems, auxiliary generator, compressors air system, mill HVAC system, and steam and condensate for the manufacturing facility. Maintenance duties include inspection of all and maintenance of all Powerhouse related equipment, mill steam distribution system, mill condensate systems and mill air distribution systems. Inspection and maintenance of mill fire response equipment and lift safety equipment. The power plant has a total capacity of 1700 thermal-hours.
The successful applicant must possess a Second Class Operating Engineer’s certificate, completed their exam requirements for their Second Class. Preference will be given to those with pulp and paper experience.
The incumbent must be able to work in a team based environment and demonstrate the ability to work under production, time and cost constraints. The starting wage rate is $46.42 per hour and we offer a comprehensive benefit package.
