  • Summary

    Reporting to the Die Making Supervisor, the Tooling Designer is responsible for creating the files that will be output to the Gerber, BSI Grid Bender and the Idea Rule Processor for the manufacture of all tooling and dies used internally within our Die Cutting department.


    • Experience working with Cimex computer program
    • Experience working Artios computer program an asset
    • Previous Die Programming and Design Experience
    • Thorough understanding of the Die Cutting and Blanking of paperboard within the Folding Carton Industry
    • Strong File Management Skills
    • Excellent computer skills, including intermediate MS Excel
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritize jobs
    • Strong problem skills
    • The ability to work on their own and as a team member
    • Strong initiative 
    • Thorough understanding of 5S and Lean concepts and principles
    • The Tool and Die Programmer must possess a high school diploma or equivalent experience.      


    1. Program Cutting Dies
    2. Program Counter Plates
    3. Program upper and lower Blankers
    4. Program upper and lower Stripping Boards
    5. Export Files to various equipment
    6. Review New Tooling and Remakes required through monitoring of scheduled jobs
    7. Assist the Tool and Die Maker as required including performing backup duties
    8. Assist the Structural Design Department as required
