  • Summary

    Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate works to support all plant operations, including Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance, among others.
    The successful candidate will focus on implementing & maintaining Lean, including providing training, facilitating Lean events, and implementing robust processes.    


    • Post-secondary degree in related field.
    • Six Sigma Black Belt.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging and working with both hourly production staff and senior management.
    • Excellent organizational skills; allowing for effective and efficient multi-tasking in a fast paced and demanding work environment.
    • Passion for Continuous Improvement with a strong background in Lean Manufacturing / Toyota Production System.
    • Able to facilitate training in a one-on-one and small group settings.
    • Working experience with Ontario safety regulations.
    • Driven self-starter; able to achieve results with minimal supervision, relying on own ability to pull information from multiple sources and support groups.  
    • Ability to focus intensely on high priority projects driving for rapid results.
    • Demonstrated skill with managing vendors and contractors to achieve results safely, on time and within budget.
    • Must have working experience with basic industry tools such as: Gantt charts, Pareto charts, P/Pugh matrixes.
    • Moderate proficiency using MS Excel, including: vlookup, sumifs, conditional formatting, familiarity with pivot tables & charts.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Minitab is an asset.


    • Lean Manufacturing & Lean Management implementation; on an ongoing basis apply and facilitate Lean principles and techniques, improving plant efficiency and profitability.
    • Process Standardization: work with teams of Manufacturing Department SMEs to improve and, where needed, develop standard processes and documentation.
    • Training & Development: work with subject matter experts to develop training manuals, roll out training to shop floor and track Operator certification progress; facilitate Lean training.
    • Data Analyses: analyze data from numerous sources including ERP, shop floor system, Finance, and Quality, to identify areas for intense improvement focus.
    • Leadership: lead events and initiatives including kaizens, RCFA, book clubs, waste reduction committee, etc.
    • Other duties as required
