Strathcona Paper LP produces and markets high quality paper based specialty products and services. The mill operation is located in Napanee, Ontario.
We are currently recruiting for the following full-time position: CIP Process Engineer/Relief Production Superintendent
Must possess a good understanding of paper making including an in depth understanding of all procedures and processes, equipment, chemicals, fiber and how all aspects are inter-connected. A diploma in Pulp and Paper Technology or degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience is essential. A minimum of 5 years experience in paper manufacturing is required. Must have an understanding of instrumentation, process loops and mechanical technology, computer systems, software (Spreadsheets, MSWord) and data base management. Must have a thorough understanding of current process control technology systems.
Champion the operations of the Continuous Improvement Process. Involved in the conception, planning, engineering, trialing, installation, training, and start up phases of projects occurring in the paper machine and stock preparation departments. Ensures that the company meets and exceeds long and short term production target of quality boxboard that meets the customer’s needs. Work closely with all departments and personnel in the co-ordination, conception, planning, engineering, trialing, installation, training, and start up phases of projects occurring in the mill relating to continuous improvement efforts. As the lead person responsible for the Valmet DNA DCS, you will support to the E/I Supervisor, to further develop the skills of this department with regards to the process control and automation system and to optimize the reliability and capabilities of the DNA system. Supports the RCM Program in identifying and applying for CI Projects. Evaluates data using Mill systems to evaluate improvements in CI Projects. Working with the Production Superintendent ensures all CIP/EI projects are prioritized and actioned to ensure maximum return for Strathcona Paper. Provides relief to the Production Superintendent.
