Overview

The Maintenance Planner supplies maintenance methodology and defines operational steps, manpower requirements, materials and other resources necessary to achieve safe and efficient maintenance in line with technical standards. The Maintenance Planner manages and improves the use of management tools, procedures and methodologies for maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local safety rules and regulations

 

  • Knowledge of quality management methods (ISO 9001:2008), HACCP/food safety and 5S/lean manufacturing

 

  • Computer literacy- Advanced Excel skills, experience working with databases and/or CMMS programs (MP2 is preferred)

 

  • Previous Maintenance planning or scheduling experience in a fast paced 24-7 environment (minimum 3 years)

 

  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the business (Maintenance team, vendors, scheduling and purchasing)

 

  • Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment and/or printing processes would be considered a strong asset.

 

  • Must be comfortable delegating work to skilled tradespersons

 

  • Capable of staying focused in a dynamic work environment, and handling multiple priorities

 

  • Strong prioritization, organizational and time-management skills

 

  • Supervisory experience would be considered an asset

 

Responsibilities

  • Define the detailed methodology for carrying out all the jobs according to priorities, and the required resources, skills coordination and supervision.

 

  • Ensure that all the necessary materials are available for the planned operations and meet the required quantity and quality.

 

  • Prepare time estimates for work orders and jobs to optimize resource allocation.

 

  • Participate in job costing reviews with other members of the Maintenance team.

 

  • Formalize and update detailed job-plans for important maintenance operations.

 

  • Open, close and track PM work orders and regular work orders.

 

  • Chart and track trends and status of entire maintenance department.

 

  • Coordinate work with outside contractors, and ensure all required documentation is provided.
